Cushion Chair

In 2022, Aequo invited Sudheer and Camille to collaborate on contemporary, sculptural furniture, with rubber as the focal material. During a group exhibition, they introduced the «Pocket Chair,» developed in collaboration with Aequo. This bold, ambitious piece, showcased in the powerful blue, drew significant attention for its unique forms, smooth, glossy texture, and the story it told—both of the brand’s aesthetic vision and its deep social commitment to its artisans.

For their latest collection, Sudheer Rajbhar alongside with his creative associate Camille Bastien and master craftsman Rahul Gore has crafted a series of dramatic armchairs. Each piece is built on a shared metal framework and dressed in a distinct style, drawing inspiration from fashion with features like oversized stitching, extravagant pockets, and belts. Developed as if on a mannequin, these designs underwent numerous iterations of layering, removing, and reworking until the final version was perfected. Like grand costumes, these imposing creations showcase the diverse techniques developed by Chamar and the color palettes refined over the past nine years.
