Ilia Short Sofa

Like an archipelago of islands, the Ilia  collection is designed to create endless seating compositions. Their shapes acknowledge the body’s form and honor local social connections. Their materiality transports us to an Indian cotton field while creating an opportunity to honor traditional embroidery techniques. 

Ilia is available in two editions: embroidered and pure cotton. The former was created in collaboration with Vastrakala, the celebrated Chennai-based embroidery studio founded by Jean-François Lesage. The embroidery contrasts the rough yet refined bundle of ropes and bone beads.
