Tarini Jindal Handa is the Managing Director of JSW Realty, a division of the US $23 billion JSW Group. Her leadership brings together strategic clarity and a strong design sensibility, shaping projects that expand the conversation around architecture, urban development and sustainability.

Coming from a lineage of entrepreneurs and patrons of the arts, Tarini continues a family legacy of cultural and creative stewardship. Her grandmother founded the Kanoria Centre for Arts, India’s first artist residency, and her mother established Art India magazine and serves as the Chairperson of the JSW Foundation. Under her mother’s direction, the Foundation has supported major restoration efforts across India, including three temples in Hampi - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Knesset Eliyahoo Synagogue and the David Sassoon Library in Colaba.

Tarini’s own path began with studies in fashion marketing at the American University of London, which led her to open Muse, India’s pioneering multi-brand fashion store. Over time, her focus shifted toward cultural preservation, craftsmanship and contemporary design - interests that now define much of her work.

She is the Founder of Æquo, a craft-led gallery dedicated to advancing Indian artisanship and supporting long-term economic and social development within craft communities. The gallery also works to bring global attention to India’s material culture and to contemporise its age-old craft practices. She is also the Co-founder and Creative Director of Hampi Art Labs, an arts centre in South India that nurtures emerging and established artists.

Under her direction, JSW Realty is redefining contemporary development in India, collaborating with leading practitioners from India and globally to create projects that are innovative, contextually grounded and sensitive to materiality and cultural history. Her approach challenges default modes of thinking while fostering collaboration across disciplines.

In addition to her work in design and real estate, Tarini serves on the jury of the AlUla Artist Residency Programme and is a Director at Epsilon Carbon Pvt. Ltd.

An advocate for inclusivity in both business and the arts, she has cultivated environments where varied perspectives inform the work. Based in Mumbai, she is a mother of three and a thoughtful global traveller, drawing insight from the places she encounters and the ideas that shape them.
