Based in Lisbon, Garcé & Dimofski explore contemporary design in all its diversity. For their collection with Æquo, they focus on glass casting techniques and organic forms that interlock as if molded together—shapes that seem to collapse and flow into each other, creating a sense of continuity, a fluid movement frozen in time yet solid and sturdy. Recycled glass blocks surround a brass fixture, forming a striking chandelier with a distinct character. The interplay of materials mimics the natural flow of water, with each form perfectly integrating into the next, embodying both strength and fluidity. Æquo partnered with a new workshop in Mumbai to introduce the glass casting technique, replicating ceramic models sent from the Lisbon studio. The transformation of clay into solid glass, with its deep transparency, allows the light to diffuse smoothly, enhancing the piece’s fluid form.
